Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The South Korean authorities imposed sanctions on two people and two firms for his or her involvement in North Korea’s weapons programme. One in all them is a Russian citizen.

“This marks the primary time our authorities has imposed unilateral sanctions towards people of Korean descent,” the Overseas Ministry mentioned.
The Russian citizen was named Choi Chon Gon who was a South Korean nationwide and the opposite was a North Korean who helped Choi’s actions. The 2 firms in query are owned by Choi.
The imposition of sanctions stems from Choi’s confirmed monetary help to North Korea. This transfer was known as unlawful because it violated UN Safety Council sanctions after buying Russian citizenship.
