Tabrez Ansari was tied to a stake and tortured for 12 hours in 2019, as he cried and pleaded with a mob that accused him of theft.
A video of the incident which has gone viral on social media exhibits the 24-year-old man being pressured to shout “Jai Sri Ram” which means “hail Lord Ram”, a slogan broadly utilized by Hindu hardliners.
